Monday, May 22, 2023 - I’ve been eyeing this producer awhile now. She’s making quite a name for herself. 100% Sangiovese from Predappio in Emilia-Romagna. Many believe this is where the grape originated. This is the “reserve” wine sourced from just a small 0.8 hectare parcel that is farmed organically. The color is a pure deep ruby. Instantly aromatic. You get ample aromas of cherry, violets, wild strawberries, tomato leaf (I saw this from @sommselect and it is spot on), earth and spice both sweet and savory. On the palate this is so drinkable! You get some acidity you’d expect from the grape but not overly so and the tannin is so fine. From my understanding that is from how she ferments and a lack of crushing the grapes completely. So silky and salivating all at once! Salute!
