Wednesday, May 31, 2023 - Initially a fairly simple (albeit rich) champagne, air transformed this into something broader and much more complex. Though endowed with ample pinot- and lees- driven flavors, my bottle was surprisingly youthful and bright, with only a few hints of mature unami notes peeking through. But as much as I enjoyed this, I find the price it commands impossible to justify; in fact it reminded me most of an early 2010s Roederer Estate (that’s the California outpost) L’Ermitage that I had recently.
