Saturday, July 8, 2023 - I believe the guys are totally spot on with their notes as the wine is ultra ripe, jammy with notes of various smoked black berries, plums and prunes as well as cocoa and chocolate. These hedonistic flavors are further accentuated by tiny quantities of residual sugar. The wine is complex but dominated by smoked black jammy aromas, however there is enough lift and structure from the acids and tannins to keep it all in balance.
An interesting example of southern winemaking.
