Sunday, July 16, 2023 - First off…leave your preconceptions at the door. This wine defies all of them and I love that! Keep an open mind and experience this very interesting version of “White Zinfandel”. The color is unique…pale and somewhere between straw and salmon. It almost looks more like a white wine than a rose. The nose has strawberry, floral and mineral components, with a hint of sweetness. But it’s bone dry. The palate is lead by peach and a richer body than the color portends. The body feels like it should be sweet, but it’s not. There is a honey/agave flavor that further confounds the senses. Unripe melon, apricot and a hint of strawberry at the end. This can certainly be a great porch pounder on a hot day, but don’t underestimate it with food. Paired nicely with Pesto Zoodles as well as Lemon Ice (no churn ice cream) and blueberries. This one will make you think! Great job by Morgan, Chris, Cody and the team!
