Saturday, July 29, 2023 - Drank from mag. Earthy forest floor with a few raisins and dried cherries hidden beneath the soil. Robust, resolved tannins start to form on the palate before a bitter cedar finish brings the wine to an abrupt end.
This tastes nothing of its terroir, but is still a decent pinot noir that has survived almost 30 years of aging.
While the chambertin name is misleading, for a mag that was a bit over $100 after tax, this ended up working well with a pan seared duck magret breast.
