Sunday, August 6, 2023 - Deepish straw, and somewhere between full maturity and being a little past peak. Big, lactic nose, with hints of Chelsea buns, sea air and something sharp and smoky, but more freshness would have been welcome. Massive on the palate, with notes of apple juice and roasted hazelnuts, and some apple compote on the extremely long, chalky, delicious finish (which was my favourite part of the wine; if the nose had matched it I'd have given a much higher score).
