Thursday, August 10, 2023 - Not my style. It's good, but it has too much red fruit and tobacco, to the detriment of the meaty, gamy, smoky characteristics I like to see in Northern Rhones. Color is very dark and opaque and the nose smells tarry, so perhaps it just wants more time to reveal what I hoped it would tonight. Don't get me wrong; this is certainly not a bad wine, and it is worth the money, it just didn't exhibit what I thought it would. 5-12-17-8: 92/100. (I failed to decant this or give it hours of air, so that might explain some of the above.)
