Saturday, September 23, 2023 - E1 belated bday celebration at Wimborne. Tasted blind from decanter. Drank in Riedel Pinot Noir stemless.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purplish ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of dark vegetal herbs, hint of Ling Yang, purple plums, dark red cherries, suave earth, iron, emerging peony flower. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of dark spices, dark red cherries, sweet dark red and purple plums, suave earth. Long finish with iron notes.
Very good quality. Gentle elegantly charming entry and then you feel the Gevrey masculinity to the end. Early days but already showing well with air. I love it.
