Saturday, June 6, 2009 - Somewhat subdued nose of sweet cherries, ripe strawberries, flowers and a touch of meat. Lithe mouthfeel and very subtle on the initial taste with hints of sweet strawberries - then intensifying through the mid-palate with hints of tar, layers of black pepper, black cherries, forest floor - driving to a spicy, long finish. Plenty to contemplate here with bracing acidity that made this a wonderful accomplice with food.
