Sunday, December 10, 2023 - Yes, this is just good. And still: it is amazingly young at almost ten years. Greenish straw color with bright glimmering. Brilliant. Intense and broad nose of vervain, citrus, green apples, and tons of new oak (coconut, vanilla and christmas spices). Full bodied attack, very fine balance between sweet citrus and exotic fruit sweetness and a searing acidity. Very good length, but the aftertaste is somewhat cluttered by some heavy coconut tones that overshadow the fine raisin fruit. An impressive wine that as been oaked too much. This wine will probably never shed that oaky feel. A pity. But, hey!, this is still a beautiful wine, it is only that it could have been even better.
