  • This bottle felt slightly more advanced than the others I enjoyed over the past few years. Light gold color. Initially the nose displayed ripe aromas of lemon and slight stone fruit. Very mineral on the palate, with chalk and wet rocks. Long finish. I think my timing was great with this one. Drink.

  • A serious Meursault that touches grand cru quality. Some evolved straw color, but the core is still brilliant. Fantastic nose where a succulent fruit in the vein of peach, some pineapple, and some yellow plums is balanced by fresh citrus tones and a mineral, iron tone. Full bodied attack, beautiful balance between sweet fruit and acidity on the mid palate. Fine acidity lift the finish into a long aftertaste where spice tones (vanilla, cardamom) adds even more complexity. Very long. This wine is perfect to drink now, but will clearly age positive for the next decade, and will probably be interesting to follow on its way down over the next decade for those who like old white burgundies. We drank it with lobster bisque with large chunks of perfectly boiled lobster, and it was a match made in heaven.

  • Yes, this is just good. And still: it is amazingly young at almost ten years. Greenish straw color with bright glimmering. Brilliant. Intense and broad nose of vervain, citrus, green apples, and tons of new oak (coconut, vanilla and christmas spices). Full bodied attack, very fine balance between sweet citrus and exotic fruit sweetness and a searing acidity. Very good length, but the aftertaste is somewhat cluttered by some heavy coconut tones that overshadow the fine raisin fruit. An impressive wine that as been oaked too much. This wine will probably never shed that oaky feel. A pity. But, hey!, this is still a beautiful wine, it is only that it could have been even better.

  • Straw color verging on golden, but still with a young, intense greenness. Classic nose dominated by green apples, lime, peach, topped with nuts, butter and chalk. Complexity is just the first name. Full bodied attack, lots of butter and nuts up front that soon give way to ripe tropical fruit like peach, pineapple and pear. The ripe fruit is perfectly balanced by a searing acidity, somewhat untypical for a Meursault but still just beautiful. The aftertaste is lifted into tones of citrus, green apples, a hint of pineapple and a nutty feel. Very long. This was drunk together with a Bonneau de Matray Corton Charlemagne 2007 in perfect shape, and the two wines were in fact quite similar, although this is more fatty and round. The 1er cru is just as good as the Grand Cru. Still young, so decant some hours before drinking.

  • BYO Litteraturhuset (Litteraturhuset i Oslo): Noe utviklet, lys strågul farge.

  • Light gold. Crisp mineral nose reminiscent of a Chablis, with crushed rocks, chalk and unripe apple. Balanced palate, with zesty acidity but with a good amount of presence on the palate. Crisp and lengthy finish. This still tastes young, blind I would have guessed much younger.

  • Blind. Muted at first, then clear citrus, some popcorn, a hint of smoke, fresh, middle weight. Seems rather closed/coiled.

  • From magnum. This was a very fun bottle, though it likely falls a bit short of what Perrieres can achieve in terms of true depth. However, that aside it's absolutely terrific, with the richness of the winemaking married so well to the 14 acidity. It's a bit round on the finish but that's framed so well by the acid, and the finish lingers. The fruit is mostly yellow on the nose and the palate, and it's just a delicious Burgundy that's drinking well.

  • Perrieres is probably one of the best vineyards in Meursault, and Girardin is a winemaker on the rise. Still, while this wine is good, it is below what I anticipated. Deep straw yellow with a brilliant green streak. Intense nose of tropical fruit (mostly peach with some pinapple and pear), and a whole lot of new oak (cocoa and vanilla). Full bodied, very nice acidity, tropical fruit also in the mouth, and a finish dominated by oaky flavours like vanilla and cocoa. Long finish. This is clearly a wine made from premium grapes, but the use of oak must be over the top. Or could it be bottle variation? I remember this wine as much "cleaner" in a previous tasting. Or is it in some kind of "phase"? Who knows. I will open my next bottle in a couple of years.

  • Dobbeltdekantert og servert igjen fra karaffel, trenger mye luft! Dette er meget bra, flott nerve og tydelig frukt. Grand Cru kropp. Ren og presis. Lang. Ung, men drikker flott nå med nok lufting.

  • An amazing Meursault, no less, from one of the best vineyards in the appelation. Still bright yellow colour with a greenish hue, brilliant. Intense aromas of sweet citrus, lime, bergamott, some tropical fruit and a hint of exotic spices (vanilla, cinnamon). Rather sleek attack in the mouth, less "fatty" than one would expect from the nose. High acidity cleanses the mouth, while the aftertaste gives room for plenty of citrus and exotic fruits like peach and pineapple. Extremely long, mouthwatering finish with some mineral, flinty tones. One of the better young Meursaults I have ever tasted. Should rest for at least 3 years, and will keep a good level of maturity for at least tennyears with this level of acidity. Bravo!

  • Cool and generous style with delicious aromas of exotic spices and some toast. Intense and very concentrated, with high acidity. A bit rustique, maybe, and not quite as elegant as the Garenne of Sauzet and Meursault-Santenots of Angerville. But, very impressive.

  • There is noticeable wood spice on the nose. Orchard fruits are dense and sappy. It has a rigid backbone of minerals and citrus and good mid-palate sweetness. There's plenty going on right now and length is impressive.
