Monday, December 5, 2011 - Terroir-istes International - Italy-Piedmont-Barolo-Aldo Conterno (Rodwell House): (Served as a half bottle): the bouquet reveals tilled soil, botrytis rot, beeswax, apricot and pineapple in syrup. A creamed honey element drives through the wine, making it full, sweet and very rich. The mid-palate has some button mushroom, glycerol with botrytic spices with a very generous warming alcohol.
Very tertiary notes play off against some exotic fruit components that give it plushness.
