Sunday, June 28, 2009 - An intriguing wine, both because of where it's from (this is my first Texas wine) and the unique tastes that it brought. Some traditional claret/bordeaux flavors in the front, with dark berries, but earthy on the end palate - very old world. At first I wondered why Becker produced both a Meritage (which I haven't tasted) and Claret. It must be because this is made in much more of an old world style. Not sure how much the Brummetts paid for this gift, but it's intriguing enough that I'd obtain another if the opportunity arose.
