Sunday, March 31, 2024 - Side by side with '07. This '09 immediately showed great color and brightness in all aspects with no signs of its nearly 15 years of age. Red berry freshness made this the initial favorite with just enough earthiness to ensure its Burgundy roots. Rounded out with some faint cinnamon and general Pinot spice. This held court through the first hour until the '07 started to wake up and show all of what makes a mature Grand Cru all the rage. The '09 remained steady, but did not quite get past where it started. I suspect this could easily go another 5 years, whereas the '07 is at peak.
