Saturday, August 1, 2009 - Garnet in color, fading to brick red at edges. Nose of raspberry and brown sugar, with some rocks also. Good depth of flavor on its full-bodied frame. Red fruits and very slight herbal flavors. Fruit dominates and secondary characteristics are a bit hard to pick up. This is clearly quite ripe. Mild to moderate ripe tannin on the long finish. Very, very good, though not great.
