Thursday, August 27, 2009 - This wine was decanted and poured about fifteen minutes later. This starts out showing well but improves and becomes more complete and complex with about an hour of airing. This wine drinks well now and should hold for many more years. The aromatics show cigar ash, chocolate, tar, cherry and spice notes. The bouquet is expressive and multidimensional. The color is a dark brick red to purple. It is correct for the wines age. The medium/full bodied palate shows outstanding integration of the tannins between the combination of youthful fruit and mature nuances.
