Wednesday, October 7, 2009 - Yowsa. The difference between pre-global warming or whatever the hec is happening in Germany and the 2000's is night and day and I remember why I love German wine. Cool fruits, hint of petrol, peach pit and very fresh nose. On body, concentrated and deep, pippin apple skin, peach. But this is a dinner wine and the sweetness is buried in the structure of acid and mineral. Rather long finish. Extremely well drinking, nice, nice wine. And missing the over ripeness and richness of the 21rst century wines that have no place with dinner or desert.
