Dinner with Liz, V, and Anna: Absolutely superb tonight. Off dry, extraordinary complexity, beautiful poise. In a particularly beautiful place at the moment, without a hint of nearing the end of its plateau.

Extreme typicity on the nose - honey, yellow apple, mineral and a lingering, delicate petrol note (25% on our petroleum scale :-)) Nicely developed taste with an extremely high acidity that totally lifts the wine and hides the sweetness of the wine. Almost tropical tones to the fruit, mineral, a healthy dose of petrol, peaches, yellow fruits, freshness and good length. Often very hard to rate medium-dry german Riesling. I am never overwhelmed by them, and in my book this particular specimen stops at 90, but I can understand that fans of medium-dry Mosels award it higher.

Clear light golden yellow colour with a hint of green. Petroleum, citrus, peach and apple on the nose. Lots of fruit, with splendid acidity - a touch of apple pie (cinnamon?). Lingers on and on and on. Overall a great wine. Enjoy it with friends!

Yowsa. The difference between pre-global warming or whatever the hec is happening in Germany and the 2000's is night and day and I remember why I love German wine. Cool fruits, hint of petrol, peach pit and very fresh nose. On body, concentrated and deep, pippin apple skin, peach. But this is a dinner wine and the sweetness is buried in the structure of acid and mineral. Rather long finish. Extremely well drinking, nice, nice wine. And missing the over ripeness and richness of the 21rst century wines that have no place with dinner or desert.

A really nice bottle, but not as vibrant as the previous ones.
