Tuesday, October 13, 2009 - This is the second vintage in a row I liked this wine, which is odd because I like so little cabernet franc. I guess both 2005 and 2005 were ripe vintages in the Paso Robles area which explains why I didn't get the greenness I so often associate with cab franc, although that doesn't work in the Loire. Not a lot on the nose except some berry and a touch of alcohol. The palate is balanced with cherries, dark fruit and soem spice. A little bit of acid but not too bad. A nice mouthfeel.
