Thursday, November 5, 2009 - White Burgundy vs.... New Zealand Chardonnay!?; 11/4/2009-11/5/2009 (Marche Moderne, Costa Mesa, CA): Hallelujah this wine is a blessing from the heavens. The nose is still tight but it's giving up powerful peach creme and deep expressive stone fruit. But what really impresses on this wine is the gorgeous palate. The flavor is really concentrated and rich and is accompanied by gorgeous acidity and minerality. The wine just saturates your mouth with its dense powerful layers with copious amounts of lemon, apple, pineapple and a hint of earth on the back. Super long finish that goes on and on and on of mouth smacking fruit and a light wood note. Still a baby but it's already giving up so much and I can imagine it's only going to do more
