Oak, vanilla, barrel spice and some tannin wrapped around simple and unremarkable fruit. No depth, no nuance, no development. I know I can't expect Lopez de Heredia at this price, but this carries little interest and bears only passing resemblance to Rioja. At a similar price point, I'll take a Diez-Caballero any day.
