Sunday, March 21, 2010 - Pleasant burnt plum color. The wine's bouquet is its most impressive feature: very lively, but not overpowering; a fatty olive oil dominates, with hints of cedar, vanilla and cola nut. Palate is less impressive, dominated by black cherry with some pepper and a mild oak finish. However, the wine was quite unbalanced in my opinion: the body was watery and thin, but it seemed as though a hefty dose of tannins were retained in order to mask this shortcoming. Almost a great wine, but ultimately the tannins overpower it.
