90 Points

Saturday, April 19, 2003 - Seattle Tasting Group does Southern Rhône (Seattle, WA, USA): Danger Will Robinson! Initial scored 87. This wine (which I brought) was the single biggest disappointment of the night IMHO. Even with several hours of decanting this sucker was SHUT DOWN. The nose shows a nice dustiness and black cherry, but it was extremely reticent. Very black and closed on the palate with a medium finish. Only Brad had the foresight to call this wine as a great wine that was closed for business, and the rest of us fell in the mid to high 80's. (NOTE: later with another 45 minutes in the glass this definitely improved a great deal and moved to 90 pts.)
