Monday, June 28, 2010 - Initially popped and poured. And it was unpleasantly muted. After +/-3 hours in the bottle it opened-up quickly in the glass (10 minutes or so).
Ruby color, no signs of ambering. Aromas of dark cherry, plum and some blueberry, with hints of dried herbs, leather and a touch of eucalyptus/mint. Medium bodied with smooth tannins and ripe fruit. Medium-long finish that remains fresh throughout.
Nothing wrong with this wine, but nothing to get exited about either. It did have some of the Tignanello signature I like so much, but was slightly tired. Not worth the EUR 65 that was paid for it. Not anywhere near the '99, '01 and '04 I've had. Drink now.
