Monday, June 5, 2006 - Here is another terrific example of the superb versions of chardonnay coming out of California at reasonable prices. The nose shows green apples, toast / brioche, citrus, and a very subtle nut oil. In the mouth this clearly shows itself as the newer style chardonnay in that the acidity is just right... i imparts a clean, crisp, and almost transparent quality to the wine. This is followed by darker and somewhat more thick textures of oak, but oak that is artfully integrated into the whole. I never thought I'd write a TN that is positive about oak in a California chardonnay, but here it is! Very, very well balance, and a delight with food. Delightful price, too... I found it for $30.
