Saturday, September 18, 2010 - Decanted for 3 hours. Color is very dark, opaque purple. Nose gives off immediate whiff of tar, coffee, smoke, briar and dark fruits. Palate is medium bodied, with smoke, violets, licorice, briar, roses. Solid length on the finish. This wine drinks well now, but promises to age well. I don't know much about Barolo, but this is a fine introduction to the grape. Excellent QPR.
