Sunday, June 18, 2006 - EXCEPTIONAL Super-Second! Today, this wine is drinking beautifully. Everything is in proportion; tannins, acidity, fruit, it's all there. This wine was not decanted, but removed from the cellar and immediately opened and poured. On opening the bouquet was anise and strawberry, and only slightly sharp. After 20 minutes in the glass, WOW! The 2000 vintage of this wine is the sort that makes one get excited all over again about Bordeaux futures in great vintages. And in great vintages like 2000, Clos du Marquis is an excellent value. Personally, I cannot afford to stock up on Leovilles Las Cases in great vintages, but this wine is a top-notch QPR, in my opinion. I'm looking at the 2005's now!
