Friday, November 12, 2010 - Drank together with the 2003. Medium ruby with slight bricking towards the rim. More youthful and slightly more restrained on the nose than the ’03, but on the palate this was giving up the goods with loads of spice, kirsch and pure red fruit flavours. After the bottle had been opened for an hour the nose started to come alive giving notes of red plums, kirsch and spice with hints of funk. Well balanced at this stage with medium acid and tannin and lots fruit to match it. Great now, but should be even better in 5 years. Excellent. 90+
