Friday, January 7, 2011 - After an hour decant, light to medium bodied with subdued aromatics. Sweetness then cedar on the nose, to me typical cab. Though again light. Subtle hints of mushroom and leather. The palette is surprisingly still very tannic. The fruit is attenuating llike an older cab but still there. Very enjoyable but I can't help but imagine a few years over the hill. Especially since there is a bit of hotness and a touch of green on the finish. This wine needs a steak! With dinner a certain earthiness comes out and while it doesn't light up with fruit, it works as a Bordeaux would.
