This is a wine that'll make you think. Not because it catches your attention or hits all the right notes. It's good cab, no question. The question is, is it more than there? I opened this on a lark. On the nose straight napa cab, lots of dark berries and some oak. On the palette balanced, though nothing really noticeable on the finish. Well made, but it just seems to be there. At its price point I can't say I'm disappointed but seldom do I get an ah-hah! I don't know if this will age well, I suspect tolerably so. Is the style intentionally middle of the road? Will the wine evolve into something really interesting I don't have a strong opinion and maybe that's the most interesting thing about it.

Thanks,
Richard
12/23/2021 6:16:00 PM - No worries. If in the future you want any recommendations, I'm happy to help. I was just in Porto in mid September! More of a tawny guy, but then again Madeira is my real love from that country.
12/23/2021 6:13:00 PM - Thank you. It is not an issue for today, but maybe 2-3 years from now and my focus will be wines rated by Burghound at 95 and higher, especially older wines. Grand Cru V-R, C-M, G-C and white burgundies. Also some of the top Rhones and Sauternes. I will probably buy Portuguese VP out of the UK. But future, not now.

Second verse, same as the first. Acidic and somewhat maderized.
