Wednesday, January 26, 2011 - At last, not poxed, proper Chablis. Quite intense and mineral on the nose, the intense oyster shell of youth now more tamed, still present but with some spice and a sense of harmony. Proper GC weight on the attack and a creaminess to the texture on the mineral and quite intense mid-palate leading to an almost painful mineral and citrus grip on the fairly long finish. A sense that there is some nicely integrated oak providing extra weight to it's frame. Not quite the intensity or carry of the best examples, but mature and drinking nicely with proper sense of place. Very enjoyable. The first of my bottles of these - I risked maturity v pox, fingers crossed for the other two. ****
