  • My girlfriend loved this. I thought it was spectacular, well balanced, very complex. It still tasted fresh and could probably have lasted many more years in the cellar. However, I doubt it would improve and so, to anyone who may still have it, open and enjoy in good company.

  • From a pristine bottle, this wine had a yellow center and clear rims. The medium intensity nose put forth wax, fennel, lemon, apple, and some soil.

In the mouth, this wine was ripe with nice acidity lurking under the glycerine. It was a bit watery at first but firmed up nicely with air to have very good length.

While I still do not find the nose of Fevre’s wines to be particularly attractive, overall, this was still fun to drink. It was in the zone and will last for 5-10 years. Enjoy!

  • From a pristine bottle purchased on release, this wine had a deep yellow center and clear rims. The medium intensity nose put forth lemon, over-ripe pear, vanilla, and some white stone.

In the mouth, this was rich and ripe with attractive fruit and solid acidity. It was ripe enough that it took quite some time for the acidity and minerals to show themselves in a noteworthy way. Not surprisingly, this was best after 5+ hours of air.

This had the typical Fevre style with its super-ripe quality. However, extended aeration helped this wine as the improving acidity helped offset the extreme ripeness.

This wine is drinking now and it will continue drinking well for at least a decade. My guess is that it will probably not get a lot better, only different with time.

  • Great shape after 18 yrs!!! Gem of a GC chablis. Fevre rarely messes up. Sadly second last bottle from case of 12. Bravo!

  • Old gold in the decanter, a little lighter in the glass, but still full straw. Saline, mineral, iodine nose. Intense. Wonderfully grippy attack, dry, saline, lots of bite wrapped in properly grand cru density. Long saline finish. Super. ****1/2

  • Julian's Chablis Offline: Decanted an hour. Quite rounded nose with some mandarin, iodine and a degree of intensity. Really quite proper. By the time the reds have been poured this is starting to open up and show its stuff.proper intensity and length. Mineral, but a degree of complexity beyond this. Lovely. ****1/2

  • At last, not poxed, proper Chablis. Quite intense and mineral on the nose, the intense oyster shell of youth now more tamed, still present but with some spice and a sense of harmony. Proper GC weight on the attack and a creaminess to the texture on the mineral and quite intense mid-palate leading to an almost painful mineral and citrus grip on the fairly long finish. A sense that there is some nicely integrated oak providing extra weight to it's frame. Not quite the intensity or carry of the best examples, but mature and drinking nicely with proper sense of place. Very enjoyable. The first of my bottles of these - I risked maturity v pox, fingers crossed for the other two. ****

  • Bought at the winery. Very pale yellow in color. Nose of lemon & wet stone. Not much body. Mostlt lemon & green apple flavors. Nose blossomed with vanilla aromas as wine warmed up with time in the glass. It seemed like the wine would last years longer, but had it lost some of its richness with age?

  • Surprisingly dark yellow in the glass. Intense and complex bouquet on notes of crushed and roasted walnut, honey, vanilla, and wet stone. As usual not as mineral in flavour profile as the other Chablis Grand Cru. Medium to large bodied with great purity and density, good fresh and clean fruit with wonderful sweetness and a vinalla-tingued aftertaste.
