Sunday, August 7, 2011 - Was sitting on this one for a while. Thought it would be a nice ending to an outdoor August night dinner. As luck would have it another guest brought carrot cake and they made for the pairing of the night. The raisined core nutty finish of the Vin Santo played really well with the raisins in the cake as well as the carrot. The wine itself was solid, straigtforward enjoyable dessert wine. I don't have a lot of experience with Vin Santo, but if this is the entry level I'd like to try more.
