Tuesday, May 15, 2007 - Jadot Chevalier-Montrachet "Demoiselles" Vertical 1989-2004 (Spring - Chicago IL): Our only 1er Cru of the evening, this wine held its own nicely. According to Coates, this lieu-dit within Puligny-Montrachet Caillerets is immediately underneath Chevalier-Montrachet. If I'm not mistaken, the Jadot and Latour Demoiselles plots of Chevalier Montrachet were once included in Caillerets before their elevation to Grand Cru. This bottle had great aromatics and fruit and frankly more depth and spice tonight than the Jadot Grand Cru from the same vintage. I know this producer is having some real issues with various cuvees and vintages showing oxidation, but no problems here tonight.
