Thursday, October 6, 2011 - Tasted it blind out of a decanter. Clear, medium plus ruby in color, fading to garnet on the rim. There is also some sediment. The nose is clean and of medium intensity. The nose is developing but is by no means tired, with aromas of black fruit, oak, cofee and forest floor. The palate is dry and fairly complex, with medium plus acidity, tannins, body and flavor intensity. The alcohol is medium and not obtrusive. The length is medium. Pleasant, well integrated flavors of black fruit (cassis). Overall, this is a very good wine wihch is holding up remarkably well and appears to be younger than what it really is. I would drink now, as it is not likely to improve much with further ageing.
