Saturday, January 15, 2005 - clear pale yellow color with a bit of effervescence when initially poured. clean mineral and pear on the nose; moderate acidity and lots more residual sugar than expected from a spatlese. however, over time this decreased and the clean acidity and minerally flavors came forward. excellently paired with a baked chicken I prepared with butter, cranberries and grapefruit spiced with provencal spices.
