Monday, December 19, 2011 - Intensely floral and lavender notes on the nose mixed in with blackberry. Medium weight on the tongue (was kinda hoping for a heavier texture) with really polished feel and a nice finish of smoky, plum, blackberry and licorice. It's not the most profound Carlisle Syrah but it's more on the elegant side of Carlisle IMHO.

Tasted again on 1/7/2012 and it was like a different wine. Had all the same characteristics as noted above, however this time there was a massive game element to the nose and finish. Wonderful surprise! Hoping next bottles are consistent with this.

Tasted again on 7/24/2012 and yet again this wine tastes different. Now, it's incredibly dense and juicy blackberry with subtle smoke and game sitting more in the background. This is the first time I've had a wine change this much over the course of about 8 months. Really really interesting.
