Monday, January 9, 2012 - Wine was tasted blind.

Appearance is bright, medium ruby in color.

Nose is clean of medium intensity with youthful aromas strawberry red fruits, a delicate floral violet as well as spice notes of blackcurrant leaf (leafiness).

Palate is dry with sour medium + acidity, dusty medium tannins, delicate medium alcohol, medium – body, and a medium flavor intensity reflective of the nose with strawberries, violets and leaf aromas. Length is medium with flavor characteristics ending before acidity and then finally tannins.

Wine is of good quality as it shows Sangiovese from Tuscany precisely. Its youthful tannin and acid structure suggest that it is a young wine (2-4 years old) and while it can be drunk now it will improve for five more years. $20.
