90 Points

Wednesday, January 25, 2012 - A recent Gilman note called this surprisingly advanced and recommended drinking this in the near term, but this bottle was pretty much where you'd expect a 15-year-old grand cru to be and seemed to need more time to unwind. That sense of torque definitely made it a masculine contrast to the Latricieres we had with it. It was enjoyable nonetheless though because the structure wasn't as constricting as '96s have been for awhile, the fruit was deep and dense enough to be in the foreground, and the briary aromatics were relatively forthcoming.
