Monday, November 13, 2006 - Clear pale red/brick core of moderate intensity out to a mahogany edge and browning rim - Developed
Clean nose of moderate+ intensity of light fruit, worchestershire, alcohol, charcoal, lifted earth, cloves - developed and complex bouquet
Dry wine with birght acids that are fully integrated and some lifted flavours with some volatility and tobacco notes - fully developed. Moderate+ acids, mod to mod- body, mod alcohol and mod- fully developed tannins.
The finish is very long with cognac notes.
Fully mature - has definitely hit it's peak and is delicious. Would not have liked to wait for any further development but is delicious now - could have sniffed the aromatics all evening. Not bad for $13 in 1987!
