Wednesday, March 21, 2012 - Domaine Groffier Cellar Visit and Tasting (Morey St.-Denis): Tasting at Domaine. Open 6-7 hours before tasting. Red and black cherry aromas with thyme and tarragon. Black cherry flavors to start, then some red cherry coming through from middle to finish. Long, powerful and chewy, slightly less textured and nuanced than the C-M Amoureuses just tasted. Masculine structure, particularly tannins. Some black pepper and licorice emerge on finish. A very good wine that will reward lots of time in the cellar.
