Saturday, April 14, 2012 - Garnet and brick with medium viscosity in the glass. Rustic nose of sour red fruit, plum, citrus, crushed black pepper, cassis, green pepper and graphite. Secondary mushroom and olive. Med-full body with loads of nuance and character. Sour raspberries, pomegranate, plum, pepper, mushroom, toast and BBQ green pepper on the palate. Secondary slate minerals, mushroom, squash, olive and pine. Firm structure makes it a good food wine. Dusty and grippy tannin. More cellar time would help with balance. Med-long finish. Complex, but lack of polish prevents it from being excellent.
