Monday, April 16, 2012 - Dinner at Nia (Nia - West Loop, Chicago): This had been slow ox'd for a couple of hours. Even with time, the nose was reductive to me - with lots of plum, tar, and floral notes. The palate was medium-bodied and the tannins have softened up nicely. The flavors were vibrant with dark fruit, more tar, and a truffle note to it. Wasn't blown away by this, but I think it'll gain complexity with some additional years and/or air.
