Sunday, May 13, 2012 - Big currant fruit on first opening, but that faded quickly. What was left was a fair bit of heat and oak, overpowering any possible secondary flavors. There's also a notable bitter undertone, possibly lingering oak tannins. Overall, given what it's lost and what it has left, I don't think it's going to get better. I think it's actually past it's prime.
