92 Points

Monday, December 25, 2006 - Saw this wine for the first time at the Pennsylvania state store. It had a list price of $55 and it was on sale for $19. I decided to give it a try. The color is a nice purple/burgandy . From the moment you pop the cork and poor a glass you smell a strong, robust pleasant scent of oak and cabernet grapes which tells you this is going to be a good wine. First sip and your thinking this is really really good, smooth, not too tart or sweet nice balance of tannins and fruit with just a touch of heat on the back of the throat. This wine impressed me; a definate new favorite. I went back to the store and bought a few more bottles. I was told by one of the people working in the store that if I enjoyed this wine than I would really love the bosche. I picked up 7 bottles of the bosche 1999 vintage and a 2001, I have not tried these yet as I am waiting for the right occasion. Overall I would give the sycamore a solid 92
