just an amazing bottle - after 20 years, still a very good nose and strong hints of black licorice. decanted for an hour or so, lots of sediment as one would expect

Aging well. Silky yet viscous mouthfeel. Nice smooth finish. Some earthiness and tobacco underscore dark cherry and cassis fruit. Similar scents on a fragrant nose.

Beautifully aged cab with finesse and depth. Red fruited with notes of mint, leather and cedar. Nicely balanced with a smooth nuanced finish. Might have guessed pinot in a blind tasting.

Believe this is nearing the end of its drinking window. Some diminution of fruit leaving a more earthy, Bordeaux style wine. Still enjoyable but need to drink up. Medium garnet in color. Lightly floral nose. Earthy, tobacco and cedar notes on the palate. Drank side by side with a Freemark Abbey Bosche Vineyard which still retained all of its original fruit.

Straightforward currant bouquet. Medium bodied, on the more elegant side of Napa Cabernet. A bit of tannin still on the finish but this was fully mature. Good balance, quality wine.

Two different wines over the course of five hours - both excellent in their own way. Initially cranberyy and orange rind notes on the nose. Lighter body, red color and delicate on the palate. By the later stages, it got much darker, added weight and the dark fruit, chocolate and flint was more apparant. At all times the acidity gave it a nice freshness. Balanced.

Very nice wine, and I agree with many CT tasting notes. Beautiful cherry and chocolate nose. Ruby in color with some maturity showing on the rim. No tannin and ready to go. A lot of minerals and some tobacco on a smooth palate with decent finish. Surprised as to how good this was.

This wine just keeps keepin' on. Lovely nose of Cella's chocolate covered cherries. Smooth sweet tannins. Wish I had bought 2 cases instead of one @ $20/btl!

Cherry on the nose with great balance of acid and tannins. Very smooth. Bought this few years ago for $19. Can't imagine a better value out there. Will drink other bottles over the next year or so.

What a surprise had this in cellar since release, decanted w/vinturi and drank. Expectations were far exceeded with great color and legs. Very smooth almost silky through the finish. Too bad last one.

Purchased at SevenS restaurant in OC. The wine was devoid of fruit and only got marginally better once open. Part of the problem could be as a result of serving the wine at room temperature by the restaurant. I doubt it was stored well. Certainly not worth the overdone price of $100+, quite a markup and quite a mistake on our part.

Saw this wine for the first time at the Pennsylvania state store. It had a list price of $55 and it was on sale for $19. I decided to give it a try. The color is a nice purple/burgandy . From the moment you pop the cork and poor a glass you smell a strong, robust pleasant scent of oak and cabernet grapes which tells you this is going to be a good wine. First sip and your thinking this is really really good, smooth, not too tart or sweet nice balance of tannins and fruit with just a touch of heat on the back of the throat. This wine impressed me; a definate new favorite. I went back to the store and bought a few more bottles. I was told by one of the people working in the store that if I enjoyed this wine than I would really love the bosche. I picked up 7 bottles of the bosche 1999 vintage and a 2001, I have not tried these yet as I am waiting for the right occasion. Overall I would give the sycamore a solid 92

Drinking at its peak. Cherry, leather, and a touch of cranberry still feel fresh and well integrated.
