Wednesday, June 13, 2012 - Brought to restaurant and asked for a decanter... they brought a chilled bucket. Whatever. Tight and tannic upon opening, though not obnoxiously so. Very fruity with a macerated boysenberry, blueberry, and blackberry type profile. Some brambles and smoked wood. Not much else going on. Sturdy tannins show up on the finish but are softened by the ripe, forward fruit. Opened up over time but never gained complexity. Better with food than without, this was delicious with our Basque meal. Might benefit from cellar time... this certainly has plenty of fruit and tannins.
