Saturday, August 18, 2012 - Take this review with a grain of salt since we drank this at a northern Michigan cabin out of plastic juice glasses. Even though this was an inexpensive wine I had really much higher expectations based on a review I had read before buying. The nose was weak but had some black cherry and wood. I didn't get the smokiness I was promised. The taste was quite acidic and hot on the tonge. The finish was long but was not what I would call pleasant. I have one more bottle and will try again out of a more suitable drinking vessel. Also, as most wines in this price range, it has a synthetic cork.
