Tuesday, November 20, 2012 - Gave this a splash decant & let it sit for a little under an hour. Clear dark ruby red. The nose was dominated by menthol & tar at first, but with air, some spicy red fruit emerged. Medium bodied, this showed a slight whisper of fizz/ secondary which gratefully blew off. Tart cherry, & some allspice on the front & mid palate. Some deeper riper fruit on the back end. Well balanced with extremely high acidity. The acid is really the framework of the structure as the tannins are surprisingly soft. Quite dry on the finish.

I don't think this is imported anymore, it is quite good, although I have no idea what I paid for it. Paired w/ steak & mushrooms.
