Monday, December 31, 2012 - Medium center, maturing rim. What a stupid way of putting it, but this just smells like great Burgundy-gamey, smoky and eventually quite minty. Lighter weight but quite intense. Some iron and earth, good fruit and excellent acidity for a 1990 wine. It showed more menthol over time and never became truly great. Excellent and subtle, but well short of being transformative; it just lacks that extra level of depth and complexity. Last wine of the year-on to 2013!
